This project was developed for the College of Architecture and Design at Wenzhou-Kean University to improve restroom hygiene. Inspired by the traditional Chinese concept of the Nine Sons of the Dragon, it features nine cartoon-style mythical creatures.
The project includes two products: a switch board installed outside each restroom stall to indicate cleanliness through sliding interactions, and a period mutual-aid box placed at the restroom entrance, allowing users to take or return sanitary napkins through simple interaction.
User Insight
Although restrooms are cleaned regularly, the cleaning frequency (typically twice a day) cannot keep up with how quickly stalls become dirty after repeated use. As a result, users often encounter unclean toilets with no clear indication of their condition.
Meanwhile, menstrual mutual-aid boxes in other colleges are frequently empty due to one-way usage. In the College of Architecture and Design, the situation is more critical—there is no mutual-aid box at all, leaving users unprepared during sudden menstrual emergencies.

The products feature nine mythical creatures inspired by traditional Chinese roof ornaments, using friendly characters to reduce embarrassment and increase user engagement.

Oh! shit!!! Did you forget to bring pads again? "Oh! shit!!!" is designed to help you. Mutual Aid Pad Box is waiting for you in shitty luck, at the entrance to the toilet.
Please give a shit, return the pads after rotating the box and borrowing the pads.
